Who really thought that the predicted swell last Friday would really turn out to be that big?
The answer: Not many!

After watching a hand full of guys trying to get into the solid lumps of swell on the high tide, I decided to let a bit of the tide run out before giving it a go. On my return, at about 12 noon, it had cleaned up and started to hit the Point much better. Lucky for me, "Pop-out" was keen and agreed to get out there and join me.

After a heavy paddle out from Blackwoods and dodging the close outs coming across the Island, I was in position. Fast forward two hours, and I can say it was great surfing solid slabs with only a couple of takers. Mind you, many went unridden!

Wave of the day goes to Jay Mason who, without any regard for his personal safety paddled (kinda) into an un-makable slab and went head first over the falls. So funny. Thanks Jay for making my day.
